Notes: hardware & performance

Thanks to the course given by Mr. Drepper, I've got some idea about programming, here is some conclusion I've get. Just record them here, no matter they are right or wrong:
1, We need to focus on the hardware, if we want to get a better performance, especially when we are writing programs at a low level, such as kernel, glibc, etc. More important that, we have no choice but have focus on the hardware as it's the duty of the program, such as kernel. So, the some knowledge of hardware is very important.
Fortunately, qemu will provide lots of knowledge of hardware, so, it's a good choice for me to learn some thing about hardware from reading the code of qemu.
2, Use cache as much as you can, that's a most important way to impove the performance of the program. We also have other method, such as use smp, etc.
